rosebutton (1K)  Come play with Elli and Free Classes*

Hello, to all you sewers, new and experienced, I want to share with you the excitement of the two new machines, the Ellisimo and Jewel announced by Baby Lock®. We now have the Ellismo in the shop for you to see all the new and exciting features and built in designs. I know that some of you have already seen the Ellisimo and you and know what a great machine this is. You can now stop in the shop and sit and play with Elli (that’s the Ellisimo’s new name) or call for an appointment 703-490-1536.

We know that the state of the economy has been pretty rough lately. Attic Treasures and Sue Ann want to help, so for the next eight months (Nov through June) the only charge for any classes taught by Sue Ann will be the kit fee. Yes, you read it right the class will be free and you will only pay for supplies.

Let’s give Sue Ann a lot of thanks, she really lives up to our store motto: WE SELL SEWING NOT SEWING MACHINES.

Attic Treasures Hosts
Dalco Home Sew Demo/Trunk Show

Learn new embroidery and appliqué techniques and see examples of dozens of creative, fun projects at the Attic Treasures Trunk Show being held 10-12:30 or 6:15 to 9:00. on Monday September 29th . Whether you have a home sewing or embroidery machine, you’ll enjoy the classes, demos, and camaraderie that this event promises to offer.

The first class/demo will demonstrate a looping technique that can be used to apply fringe to appliquéd flowers, dresses, other items. The second class/demo will focus on a 3D technique that takes a flat appliqué design and gives it life. The demo will involve adding wings to a dragonfly design, but once learned this method has limitless applications.

In addition to the class/demo, there will be a comprehensive display of quilts, gift items, wall hangings, pillows, and a vast array of other finished items to spark ideas for projects of your own. A brand new product called Stitch ‘N’ Frame, which allows you to make unique photo frames that can be used alone or as part of a photo album scrapbook or quilt, also will be on display. A short demonstration will be presented on the Stitch ‘N’ Frame kits along with ideas and examples for using them.

The cost for each of the classes is only 5.00 and all the materials and equipment you need will be provided. rosebutton (1K)  We're back with AWESOME news!

We are back from Baby Lock® Tech !!!

We came back with our heads in the clouds and are breath taken away!! The new Ellisimo™ is the most exciting sewing machine I have ever seen. You can go to babylock.com and see it. We will have one in the store in the next few days for you to see up close. We hope to have it in the store on Saturday September 6th and have to give it up on Thursday Sept 11th . I will let you know for sure when we have it in the store, but you might want to block these dates.

You must at least see this new machine to believe what they have added to sewing!!!

I am going to have a 60th birthday sale for the rest of September. I won’t tell whose birthday it is. I have several top of the line machines that will be sold at the lowest prices I have ever offered. We will have lots of deals on the machines in the store. Demo machines will be a great deal so call or stop in. This birthday only comes once (that fine with me) so don’t miss the party.

We have several new projects for the shop that we learned in the classes we took at Baby Lock® convention, so watch for the new class list you will not want to miss what we have planned.

Sadia from Sadia Sews is coming soon Sept 12, 13, and 14th. You can see the projects here, just scroll down or click on the Sadia Sews link in the right column. You can go to her web site and see how wonderful her works is. http://sadiasews.com.

Call the store to register 703-490-1536 for the event.

The Free Designs page has been updated!

rosebutton (1K)  Some of the changes…

We have completely redesigned the photo gallery. Please have a look and upload your own project photos while you’re there.

Click here to have a look

The site search will have to be disabled until I can find a new utility that will work. The current hosting company does not have one that can be auto-installed so this may take some time. I apologize for the inconvenience.

None of the forms will work at the moment for the same reason. As soon as I have a chance I will update the information about how you can order manuals or apply to teach a class. In the meantime, please call the store, (704)490-1536, if you require assistance with either of those things.

We are discontinuing the “Sewing Circle” bulletin board. We didn’t really have a lot of interest from actual customers but the spammers sure had a time with it. It is too much work to keep them out, yet allow you to enjoy it. They post faster than our users do and none of it is appropriate. We apologize for those of you that enjoyed this section of the website.

We hope the changes will be a big improvement and on the back end of the site things should run much more smoothly. Thank you again for your patience and if you find anything else that needs my attention, please let us know as soon as possible.

Thank you!

rosebutton (1K)  Our Yahoo group

We want to give a big thanks to a special person, Emily Ruebsamen. She has set up a Yahoo Group for the Embroidery Club. This was a huge step for us.

This is a private group and you can only subscribe to it by invitation. Only members can access it. You can join by attending any of our Embroidery Club meetings on the first Saturday of each month.

The Yahoo group provides all of us with information and announcements about the Attic Treasures Embroidery Club and the shop. In addition, this is a resource for you where you can post messages to the group, ask or answer any questions, or pass on ideas related to sewing or embroidery.

We have a links section which provides you with other websites for information, products, and designs. We also have a photo section for you to post your wonderful projects. The best Section might be the Poll Section where we can get your feed back about classes, contest, or guest speakers and events. When you are notified of a poll please take a minute to participate. Your responses will greatly help us to serve all of you better.
